How the culture desk works
Trident Media writes about franchises whose audiences read every line, and this policy sets out the standard that requires.
Announced, leaked, confirmed
A release date, a price and a platform are attributed to the company that stated them, together with the day of that statement.
A leak stays labelled as a leak and is never promoted to a fact because several outlets repeated it.
Writing about people
A public figure is covered through their work and their public statements, never through their private life.
A quotation carries the interview or broadcast it came from, and a paraphrase is never dressed up as a direct quote.
Astrology as entertainment
Astrology pieces are published for amusement and never as guidance on health, money or relationships.
Fixing a culture story
A wrong studio, a wrong date or a wrong platform is put right as soon as it is raised through the contact form.
The amended piece carries the day of its update so readers can see what moved.
Bylines on the desk
An author page states the franchises and formats a contributor follows, without claiming a role at any studio or network.
Where this desk stops
Sales figures, player counts and viewing figures appear only once the company that owns them has released them.
