Uno, the Bus Service wholly owned by the University of Hertfordshire, have started an investment to improve benefits to staff and students. These have been introduced in response to customer feedback.
On the 12th January 2015 Uno introduced the 695 bus service, a weekday shuttle between Hatfield Station and the Forum Hertfordshire that runs at peak hours during University time. It combines with the 653, 602, and 341/641 to provide eight buses an hour throughout peak times. The service will be free until the 9th March, when the fare will be £1 for a single. Existing services on the route have had a £1 single fare introduced, a reduction from £1.70.

Uno have also reduced fares for University of Hertfordshire staff and students. The new £1 single fare can be bought on any bus travelling within Hatfield and the boundaries of Welwyn Garden City Bus Station, Welham Green, Smallford, and Holwell Roundabout.
“We are very pleased to introduce these changes after consultation with our stakeholders” says James Thorpe the Managing Director of Uno Buses Ltd, “and hope these enhanced services and reduced fares encourage staff and students to use Uno bus services.”
