The Kerrang! Award-winning festival is back for another crazy, chaotic year and is set to be the best alternative music festival of 2015. The annual event spans across three days over the May Bank Holiday weekend, and whether you’re in the North, Midlands or South, Slam Dunk is coming your way!

Slam Dunk North: Leeds City Centre, Saturday 23rd May For the first time in eight years, the festival has now moved from Leeds University into the Millenium Square, 02 Academy, Leeds Beckett University, and the surrounding areas. Organiser, Ben Ray, has said “With the festival moving to a new location there has been much speculation over the location of the infamous afterparty.” He confirmed, “The afterparty will take place in the massive Leeds First Direct Arena. With over 4000 people set to be rocking out to some of the biggest rock anthems, the event is set to possibly be the biggest rock club night the UK has ever seen!”

Slam Dunk South: University of Hertfordshire, Sunday 24th May

Students at UH will welcome the return of Slam Dunk to the Hertfordshire Students’ Union in Hatfield this year. Being only 22 minutes away from Kings Cross Station, Hatfield is the perfect location for a hardcore rock festival, and will make the festival goers experience all the easier, with a regular shuttle bus collecting and delivering people from Hatfield Station to the heart of the festival.  The Forum Hertfordshire will also be hosting the unforgettable after party and promises to be bigger and better than previous years.

The Festival This year’s Slam Dunk is made up of seven stages, both indoor and out, to provide you with the best and newest alternative music currently out there! Each festival site will be offering apparel and merchandise from the bands and sponsors, as well as exclusive signings with some of the bands, so you’ll still have time to be a die hard fan and buy a band tee. The sites will also be providing, the much needed, food, drinks and refreshments outlets to keep you hydrated and energised for the pits and the highly anticipated after parties.

Slam Dunk’s previous headliners have seen the likes of Taking Back Sunday, All Time Low, The All-American Rejects and Fall Out Boy, and taking to the stage this year it’s Weybridge boys, You Me At Six. Having previously made appearances at Slam Dunk from 2007-9, YM@6 are pleased to be back to headline this year. “We are really excited to be headlining Slam Dunk Festival again…we can’t wait to close the festival each night!” said frontman, John Francecshi,  in an interview with Kerrang! They released their fourth studio album, Cavalier You, in January 2014, and for this year’s Slam Dunk, they have promised to pay “extensive homage” to their first album Take Off Your Colours, which was released by Slam Dunk’s own label in 2008. The pop-punk band will be joined by over 50 national and international artists, both big names and up-and-comers.

The hardcore fans will be very happy to see Architects, back for another round, whose fifth studio album Lost Forever/Lost Together peaked at 16 in the UK charts last year. Joining the British metalcore band are Gallows, Beartooth, and Baby Godzilla, who all, without a doubt, will be putting on a messy and entertaining performance.

Returning performers, Reel Big Fish, and newbies, Survay Says!, will be making their claim for the ska music of the festival. And another first-timer, PVRIS, will also be joining the bill and will be making their UK festival debut.

Not to mention the bigger names of the day including We Are The Ocean, Taking Back Sunday, Don Broco, and Lower Than Atlantis.

Slam Dunk Festival 2015 is pulling out the big line up, and with the variety of bands and music and the three different locations across England, there’s certainly something for everyone! Standard tickets will cost £39, whilst inclusive tickets with the after party will set you back £44. Most of the tickets have almost sold out, but if you manage to get your hands on some, you are in for a treat!

Make your May Bank Holiday Weekend an unforgettable experience. We hope to see you rocking out at Slam Dunk 2015!
